By Train

Jackson Square is less than a 10-minute walk from Bishop’s Stortford station. Greater Anglia offers direct routes from Cambridge, Stansted Airport and London Liverpool Street.

By Bus

Jackson Square is well-served by multiple bus routes connecting Bishop’s Stortford to the surrounding area and beyond.

Key regional routes include the 510/511 to Harlow, 7/7A to Stansted Airport, 301 to Saffron Walden, and 386 connecting Braughing and Standon. The town is also served by the Stortford Shuttle, a community minibus loop running hourly on weekdays through the town centre, and local bus services covering residential estates throughout Bishop’s Stortford.

By Taxi

There is a taxi rank located directly outside Jackson Square on Riverside, providing convenient drop-off and pick-up access.

By Car

We’re located close to Stansted Airport and approximately 5 minutes from junction 8 of the M11. If you’re visiting by car, enter CM23 3XQ into your sat nav.

Blue Badge Parking: Blue badge holders receive 3 hours free parking within the car park. There are also 2 Blue Badge bays on Riverside, located either side of the taxi rank, providing direct access to the Centre and town.

Parking

The car park at the centre is managed and run by East Herts District Council and operates a Pay and Display system with machines located across the site.

Please note the machines require you to enter your car registration number.

The machines accept cash or debit/credit cards. The card payment service is ‘Check In Check Out’ and allows you to pay for the actual time used in the car park.

Car Park Tariff

This car park opens at 6am every day and closes at midnight.

Parking is FREE on Christmas.

Monday to Saturday (chargeable times between 7:30am to 6:30pm only)

  • 1 hour – £1.25
  • 2 hours – £2.50
  • 3 hours – £3.70
  • 4 hours – £5.00
  • 5 hours – £6.20

Sunday, Bank and Public Holidays (chargeable times between 7:30am to 6:30pm only)

  • £2.10 – All day

Payment

Payments can be made with cash, credit or debit card (we do not accept American Express or Diners Club), Apple Pay or Android Pay using the parking machines in the car parks.

We are now part of the National Parking Platform. Visit www.npp.org.uk and choose from apps like RingGo, JustPark, Apcoa, AppyParking, Caura, or PayByPhone to pay for your parking.

Parking Promotion

Shoppers at Sainsbury’s can have up to 2 hours parking charge refunded subject to a £5 minimum spend in store.

To obtain this discount, users must be parked on the 1st floor of the car park and pay at the machine to obtain a ticket. A ticket must be purchased to receive the discount. Sundays are excluded.

Blue Badge Parking

For blue badge holders we have 36 bays. Blue Badge holders may park in this car park free of charge for up to 3 hours. A valid Blue Badge must be clearly displayed, and the time clock must be set at all times. Where possible, please use the designated Blue Badge parking bays as a priority when they are available.

In addition to the car park facilities, there are 2 dedicated blue badge bays on Riverside, either side of the taxi rank, giving direct access to the Centre and town.

Parent and Child Parking

We have 10 parent and child bays available for families with young children.

 

Motorcycles

Designated motorcycle bays are available. Motorcycles parked within these bays may park free of charge. Motorcycles parked in any other bays will be required to pay the normal parking charge.

Important Information

  • Height Limit: The multi storey car park has a 2.1m height limit
  • Overnight Parking: Please note the car park is locked overnight from midnight and vehicles are left at the owners risk. The car park will reopen at 6am.
